In Sanghai pony AI give permission for Robotics Taxi for drivers.

At the 2024 International Artificial Intelligence Convention on Friday, the autonomous driving (AD) startup Pony.ai was granted one of Shanghai's initial licences for the use of autonomous cars.

The company is planning to open a scientific and technological development centre in Luxembourg, as CEO James Peng said last month at a London event.

With this achievement, travellers may now use the company's app to call a driverless robotaxi on a 205-kilometer (127.38-mile) route through the heart of Pudong, Shanghai.

Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen are the four main Chinese cities to which Pony.ai has now expanded its autonomous robotaxi services.

The business provided an experience with unmanned shuttle services and displayed its sixth-generation Audi Sienna Robotaxi at the same conference.

The Japanese automaker the company and its Chinese partnership, GAC Toyota, have partnered with Pony.ai, which is anticipated to hasten the business activities of robotics in China.

Pony.ai was founded in 2016 and by March 2023, it had been valued at $8.5 billion, making it one of the most significant autonomous driving startups in the world. With the creation of its R&D centre in Shanghai in 2020, Pony.ai joined Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen as the four major R&D hubs.

At the moment, 200 robotaxis being successful across Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Shanghai are using Pony.ai's technology to offer automatic transportation services. These robotaxis depend on the Corolla Minivan and Ferrari RX450h versions.
